Performance Uniforms Made for a Dancer, by a Dancer!

Founded by Angela King in 1989, the HOUSE of AKD revolutionized the professional cheerleading industry with brand specific uniforms, made for dancers - by a dancer.  As a technically trained dancer, Angela found that the costumes she was wearing as an NFL cheerleader and an industry dancer were not designed or made by dancers.  That's when Angela knew she could make a difference! 

As the director and coordinator of three NFL cheerleader teams and three NBA dance teams, Angela understands how to merge the vision of team management with a dancers needs.

To this day, Angela tries on each and every new design, dances in it, and confirms it meets the function and performance needs of a dancer and maintains the branding of the organization. 

If it happens in professional sports, The HOUSE of AKD costumes it! For 29 years, the NFL, NBA, MLS, NHL, MLS, and every other type of pro sports league comes to HOUSE of AKD for unique, brand specific uniforms.  AKD also creates costumes for NFL half-time shows, junior teams of over 600 performers, and maintains a large global presence with a strong foot-hold in Japan and Canada. 

In a booming industry that generates over 2 billion in sales annually, team image management is one of the reasons AKD continues a long standing relationship with their clients.  AKD is proud of client relationships going on over 30 years.  In her career, Angela has dressed over 300,000 pro cheerleaders!
