Founded by Angela King in 1989, the HOUSE of AKD revolutionized the professional cheerleading industry with brand specific uniforms, made for dancers - by a dancer. As a technically trained dancer, Angela found that the costumes she was wearing as an NFL cheerleader and an industry dancer were not designed or made by dancers. That's when Angela knew she could make a difference!
To this day, Angela tries on each and every new design, dances in it, and confirms it meets the functional performance needs of a dancer.

NFL, NBA, MLS, NHL, MLS, and every other type of professional sports league comes to HOUSE of AKD for unique, brand specific uniforms. AKD has also created costumes for NFL half-time shows and junior teams of over 300 performers. Costume and uniform image management is one of the reasons AKD maintains a long standing relationship with their clients. AKD is proud of client relationships going on over 30 years. Angela has dressed over 300,000 pro level cheerleaders!

AKD also creates custom, brand specific swimwear for cheerleader calendars. AKD has even received an "Oscar" from Sports Illustrated Magazine for the unique XFL Cheerleader uniforms.
